English 4 (0120) is a course designed to equip students with the skills needed to effectively think, read, and express themselves in writing as reflective, critical individuals. Interdisciplinary connections with twenty-first-century themes will be explored through both classical and contemporary texts. Detailed instruction and guidance will also be provided throughout an extended research analysis. Units will be intertwined throughout the semester to show similarities and differences in themes and structures. Course objectives will be met by interpreting various genres of literature, as well as detailed instruction and guidance for the research process. Students in this course should be prepared to be challenged by coursework that is a prerequisite to college and career.
