Current Study: Trees Trees Family Letter carta familiar de estudio de arboles
Investigation: Who lives in trees?
Social Emotional Target: Following Directions
Mon: Today we reviewed our vocabulary words such as (deciduous, evergreen, crown, roots, and trunk). Students helped place types of trees with the letters of the alphabet. During small group students practiced solving math problems and worked on writing their name and tree words. During gross motor time students used magnifying glasses to observe our outdoor surroundings. We read the Grouchy Ladybug.
Tues: Today we read Who lives in trees? We talked about clues and what sense we can use to decide what animal lives in that home. During small group students practiced number recognition and counting. Other groups practiced handwriting and drawing.
Wed: Today we discussed harmful versus helpful. We learned which insects are helpful to plants and which ones hurt our plants. We practiced rhyming words and our handwriting skills. We re-read the grouchy ladybug. Students helped sponge paint the crown of our tree for our turkey tree display!
Thurs: Today we continued to make animals who live in trees. We talked about all the ways we follow directions and why it is important! We read Acorn is a Little Wild a story about an acorn turning into a oak tree and his wild adventures!
Fri: Today we had a fun friday dance party outside. We sorted animals who live in trees and who doesnt. We read Henny Penny. During centers students played with clay, legos, and went camping in dramatic play.
