What is Close Reading?

     Close reading is the thoughtful re-reading of texts that makes you think more deeply about the characters, plot, theme, and author's purpose for writing. It helps improve your comprehension of what you read and how you think about the characters and their motivations, the similarities and differences between you and the characters, and how you view the world around you!
